Carrie Blake, CPM, MPH

Director

Carrie Blake is a Certified Professional Midwife, holds a Masters in Public Health, and is pursuing a PhD in Global Health and Health Systems. Her objective is to run the race well and to use her midwifery, writing, and training skills, knowledge, and expertise to decrease mortality and morbidity of women and children, especially in the childbearing years.

Since beginning her midwifery journey in 2002, Carrie has been passionate about equipping traditional midwives with the skills needed to address postpartum hemorrhage and neonatal resuscitation. She started Train Midwives Save Lives in 2012 and it is that project that has “grown up” to be Midwives @ the Edges. Her background has uniquely equipped her to build an organization that has the potential to significantly impact the health of women and babies living in the most difficult situations.
